The UCF apologists on CIS is a sizable group. Not as strong as the Columbus High Mafia but sizable nonetheless.

Unless you can poach from another conference you run into real slim pickings for that last spot. I have no desire to legitimize UCF or USF and at least Navy gives you a certain national cache and strong academics even as your weakest athletics member.

Notre Dame and Navy. UCF is probably a popular initial idea but I have zero interest in elevating their athletics in-state and they're not a great overall match academically. I also eliminate the divisions within the conference too.
