    I don't think viewership of the local team is a significant factor although it helps. It's seems to be more about expansion of the cable footprint. Nobody in the Northeast gives a rat's *** about Rutgers (except alumni). But NY metro market adds a lot of households for the Big10 to stream...

    People still have nightmares of UM at the Sun Bowl a few years ago but our guys have had no trouble adapting when playing for the Vikings, Packers or the Bills. They will adjust.

    Teams are going to scramble for available slots. UM has to be proactive, have a plan in place, and be prepared to move quickly. We can afford to be passive and wait for suitors to come calling.

    Duke is a private school. If it's the state driving this, they would tie NC State and UNC at the hip. Similar to what the state of Va did to UVA to get Va Tech into the ACC.

    The only conference that did not have a GOR is the SEC (I guess they have no concerns of schools opting out). How did Texas and Oklahoma get out of the Big12 GOR? How is USC and UCLA getting out of the Pac 12 GOR? Is the ACC GOR unusually onerous?

    I would think they'd give UCLA some home games. But since you brought it up, they're not traveling by train. Once you load up a plane with equipment and all, how much different is a 2.5-hour flight from LAX to Seattle than a 4-hour flight to Chicago? An hour and a half is not incrementally...
