    Canes bs Tigers - ACC Championship - 2pm ESPNU/ACCN

I appreciate your response and explanation but you are incorrect. Also see about the last 100 posts in this thread. It’s all been covered from all angles. Next time I’ll just make a poll and we can settle it with a scorecard about who would do what.

Everybody here is happy with this week. A few of us are just saying we would have done it differently. He didn’t see the future. He made a choice to prioritize going 2-0. His plan worked to improve seeding, but wasn’t smart if he wanted to win today. I’m not sure how saying his plan worked but...

I’ll repeat what I said earlier, if you don’t understand ups and downs and warmup pitches that comes with pitching 4 days in a row, this conversation is pointless. Nobody should ever do that in a conference tourney. If this was Omaha it can be explained away, but not for this weekend.

I’ll simplify it even further for you. Take starting pitching out of it. All that had to happen was Leq not pitch Friday and Walt not pitch Friday or Saturday. There are your 9 outs when we’re up 5-3. Kids raise the trophy and this board is a circle jerk until regionals start. No matter what...

In a game where you gave up 11 runs, the take away is that you should have scored 12 runs, not that you should have saved your best pitching. Incredible.

So if we score 20 runs a game it won’t matter who’s on the mound? If that’s the case, why don’t we always do that? Can’t believe nobody’s ever thought of that before.

That’s a perfectly fair argument to make. My only thought was to win the whole thing. My plan was the only way to do it.

When I say Gallo vs Chestnutt I’m talking about before the game. Chestnutt and Scinta did the best they could and had us in it. I’m not complaining about their performance, I’m just saying we could’ve had better. Nobody with a straight face will say they’d prefer Chestnutt get the ball in a...

I was thinking Walsh. Get run ruled and get to the hotel by 530

Runners were on bc Rafe was tired and the first two of the inning got on. Nobody said we win today if Gallo or Rosario starts. But having either of them and Walt for 40 pitches and Leq, would’ve given us a better shot today.

I posted Tuesday night that I would’ve gone Ziehl/whatever it takes to win Thursday Chestnutt/whoever doesn’t pitch on weekends Friday Ligon/Gallo/anything to win Saturday Take your chances with Rosario for as long as possible in the ship Obviously coaches went Ligon/Rosario yesterday...

It’s not a false equivalency or hypothetical. Point is nobody should’ve pitched 4 days in a row, and your important arms shouldn’t have pitched friday. Idk how to be more clear than that.

I’ve always said the ACCT matters. There’s no telling what happens yesterday if the Duke game is a loss. I have a hard time believing that beating Duke got this team over the jump to beat Wake though. In reality it was getting Ligon back and Rosario being really good. Again all of that stuff is...

This way of thinking is why Clemson scored 11 runs today.

There is no point in arguing if you can’t understand throwing somebody 3-4 days in a row is not smart bc they only threw 10 pitches a day. That’s only half of what they’re actually doing.

It’s amazing the arguments that are being made on here. Just admit you wanted to beat Duke more than you wanted to win the tourney and be done with it.

What does Wake have to do with Miami? Nothing. Walt got 7 outs on Thursday. Would’ve been no issue for him to try to get 9 today if he wouldn’t have thrown Friday and Saturday. You also would’ve had all the other options for the 7th, that pitched friday, if they wouldn’t have. You keep quoting...

It’s fine to believe that. The coaches did too. The idea that having the opposite opinion is wrong, is absurd. That’s my point. Especially bc it played out exactly like those of us who had the other opinion, predicted it would. Either way, it was a successful week.

And that’s fine. The coaches had 2 options. They chose option one and it did what they wanted it to do. 1. Go 2-0 in pool play to improve hosting. Whatever happens after that is gravy, whether it gets rained out or you get what actually happened, you run out of pitching. 2. Play to win the...
