Danny Graves pitched in the major leagues for years. Yes, I’d absolutely take that type of talent. Wanger isn’t that guy and that’s fine. College spin will eat up most. Even when he hangs it you could see they had trouble squaring it up and that’s a big boy lineup.

The fact that he is still in college for a sixth year tells you all you would need to know about his stuff. Essentially, he will be going pro in something other than sports and that's ok. It's definitely better than JD ****roft.

Miami ended the game yesterday with an 18% win expectancy (that's really low) when using BaseRuns, which looks to strip out luck and sequencing (I.E. three hits in-a-row scoring a run versus three two-out singles etc.) Today they are at 10.4% win expectancy.

Dubberly has been an arm they're expecting to fill a long-relief role. 87-90 in Fall ball. Pitches are a bit straight and hittable. He's the type who will struggle with the elite teams in my view. (my words, not coaches)

I'd say we have lots of potential starting pitchers, but lack any proven starting pitchers. Tons of talented arms, but that's not the same as talented arms who produce immediately. I will say again, the coaches have been concerned about the starting pitching depth as recently as two weeks ago...

There is always criticism when it doesn't go well. That's not the spot that I personally would've put in Dubberly after Miami had gotten back into the game, but at some point you want to get guys into a game quickly and get their feet wet. Surprised it wasn't a multi-inning type to get...

Say what you will, but they were pretty gritty to end the game last night and are showing some toughness in this game. I'm proud of the effort. Still want to see more baseball IQ and execution, but that's something that hopefully improves as players settle in this year.

And roll the lineup over quicker. Every pitcher known to man is worse the more times he has to face the same hitter.

It really sucks when your rival plays baseball the way you wish your team did.
