Correct, that's why every individual game counts.

Because beating a team three times is better than beating a team two times.

What does that have to do with being #38 in the RPI?

Nothing has been smashed. A hundred teams are better than us when it comes to giving away free baserunners. When your defense stinks and your pitchers can't miss barrels, that's a bad thing. That's how you find yourself 9th in the league.

Because you don't care about competing nationally. You just want to be top 6 in the ACC.

The only way you get to call Miami "slightly below average" is to make sure to compare them to teams like Longwood and Alcorn. 102 in walks allowed - at Miami - is criminal.

We are #102 in the country in walks allowed per 9 innings. Given that there are 150 D1 teams that don't deserve to be called D1, we are not doing well in this category.

    1. We are slightly below average. 2. Walks are not a problem. So being slightly below average is not a problem. Just own it. You don't want us to be great.

Because all we want is for the pitching staff to be slightly below average. Don't aim too high.

You also can't respond to it. Win.

We walked the worst team in the ACC 10 times in a one run game, but walks aren't a problem. Nothing to see here.

Ah, so you also struggle with English. Everyone else on the planet understands that if you're "below average" in something, you aren't very good. Rosetta Stone might help.

You said we were below average in walks. Being below average in walks means you give up too many free baserunners. When you also have a bad defense and your pitchers give up extra base hits, those extra baserunners make a big difference. I enjoying explaining baseball to you.

Miami being below average in anything is a sign that our program has declined. So now the defense doesn't matter and neither do the walks.

A year in which we are fighting off Pittsburgh. Yep, I would say that over and over again. It still doesn't mean "WE SUCK BECAUSE WE LOST A GAME TO PITTSBURGH".

    Or the other way around.

You quoted me word for word and took it out of context, just like a true MSNBC disciple.

Saying that they're 9th is as factual and meaningful as saying that we lead the ACC in batting.
