Agreed he was overrated. Bigs in general, both in high school and in the draft, are frequently overrated. Once you get to the higher levels, size alone won't get you anywhere.

Assuming they sign everyone who's committed to them, FSU has all 13 scholarships locked up. Plus, they've already booted Wilkes and Ballard to make room for the incoming class, so I'm not sure they have anymore dead weight to cut. Seems pretty likely to me that they simply don't have room for him.

I mentioned that in the tournament thread. He's also from Puerto Rico, which would theoretically work to our advantage. He had a nasty concussion in October, missed a bunch of time because of it, and never seemed to fully recover. Looked like a future star last year though.

Have you noticed in recent years that our defense resembled a layup line? That's why you need a shot blocker. Casey's a fine pickup, but at 6'8" 180(!), he's not the paint presence we need.

Understood, but even if they're not from here, they're still here. Its criminal how little we've tried to mine these schools despite being a 4 hour drive from campus. That's true of both basketball and football.

Was just scrolling through the 247 top 100 rankings and thinking to myself, "****, that's a lot of kids from IMG and Montverde." We definitely couldn't have used some of those guys :rolleyes:
