The Tale of Dan Enos: Failure In Numbers

Wasn't in the room but fairly certain Saban wasn't begging, on the other hand for all you know Enos told him I've got an offer from Manny Diaz at Miami and Saban laughed him out of the room.

The Tale of Dan Enos: Failure In Numbers

I am saying Bama did not want he badly. Locksely leaves he's next in line and would imagine with number of coaches [coordinators] Saban has had he would have wanted to hire from within for some degree of continuity, obviously did not turn out that way. People here seem overly ecstatic about the...

The Tale of Dan Enos: Failure In Numbers

First off, prior to his retirement most here thought he was a fool, after leaving $16 m on the table, it has now been established as fact. Most here are claiming Miami outbid Bama and Georgia for Enos' services, apparently not the case, if it wasn't about money question is then how do you steal...

The Tale of Dan Enos: Failure In Numbers

If accurate, he wanted to trump Saban and bring in 'his guys', where exactly would 'his guys' have come from, in twenty plus years of coaching this guy hasn't stayed employed in any one spot too long.

The Tale of Dan Enos: Failure In Numbers

In the end Nick Saban's evaluation was let the guy go, you honestly don't think Bama could have outbid Miami?

The Tale of Dan Enos: Failure In Numbers

Another reality check, if Saban thought so highly of Enos he would still be at Bama. As we all know pockets at Bama are deep, so I am in agreement with you, value Saban's knowledge and experience without a doubt and in the end he let the guy walk.

The Tale of Dan Enos: Failure In Numbers

FSU and Georgia hired coaches who had coached with Nick Saban for years and were both proven commodities as co-ordinators, not a position coach who had a cup of coffee at Alabama. One season at Bama hardly qualifies you as Saban trained.

The Tale of Dan Enos: Failure In Numbers

Listen I agree with everything you said about Nick Saban, only Manny Diaz did not hire Nick Saban.

The Tale of Dan Enos: Failure In Numbers

Streeter, Qb coach from Clemson, would have been a splash: young, spread and resume which includes National Championships and development of Watsun, Bryant, and Lawrence. Think it would have been easier to sell Qbs come play for the guy whose coached Clemson's last 3 Qbs vs. the 50 year old...

The Tale of Dan Enos: Failure In Numbers

See it the same way you do, just hired a 50 year old coach that hasn't done a thing other than he had a cup of coffee on Nick Saban's staff. If you're going to hire a position coach should have been Clemson's Qb coach Streeter, catch some lightning in a bottle someone who's been around Swinney...
