That's not true. Every report out of camp was talking about GR being unblockable from day one. A ton of people on here were high on him. Definitely not 15 or even double digit sacks, but he was expected to make plays last . Again, either way last year is irrelevant. He is a proven commodity...

Dude. How many players in college football history have racked up 15 sacks in a half dozen games, while lining up over the center, outside with a hand on the ground or standing up? He’s a huge loss.

Not my point at all. I don’t doubt Phillips, I fully expect him to have a huge season. Its the spin that it’s somehow going to be an addition by subtraction. GR is a Top 10 draft pick. Losing him is a huge blow. Phillips having a 10 sack year alleviates that, but it’s not “better”.

Not doubting that for a second brother. I fully expect Phillips to have a monster year now that he's healthy. Just can't get behind the whole "other guys have room to shine" angle. It's pretty ludicrous thinking.

GR had 15 sacks over the last 6-7 games. Phillips hasn't played 15 plays in nearly two years. There really is no argument that doesn't require a reach of epic proportions.

Especially when "We're better off as a unit without a freak, Top 5 pick around." is the hill you choose to die on.

How can anyone type the words 'We are better overall without GR" with a straight face under any reasonable circumstance or scenario.
