Sunday tarpon

It's definitely not the capital now. The Indian river from sebastian on north has been decimated by algae blooms. Majority of the grass is dead or on it's last leg. Don't get me wrong it's still good fishing but it's gone downhill severely in the last 15 years. I can only imagine what it was...

25 knot winds kept us out of the bay so we had to find our way through the maze of islands and tide shifts. We were 100% planning to tie off to a mangrove island and be stuck out there. Paddled 19 miles and found the marker buoy 15 mins before dark....wont make that trip without a gps.

1.Yes...the legal slot is small and the season is short. Plus you need an extra 10$ stamp on your license. Theyre delicious. Threw them all back. 2. Greater amberjack. They fight/pull like donkeys. Will wear your back out quick. Meat is ok...good for a fish fry.

Sick tarpon man. Boated 5 lively snook yesterday in the kayak. Found them all hiding in a 2ft deep mangrove canal. Ill post some snapper pics soon. Season just opened up
