Mullen is a more proven coach, so the odds are is that his performance would be better. Still, it continues to prove my point, we need elite coaches to win at Miami. The same can be said for literally every other school.

I can imagine Saban's initial press conference would go like... Saban: First thing first, the chain is gone -it doesn't help us win Saban: Second thing, everyone ******* listen when I talk

Bring in Saban and our roster is 40 players next season.

Elite coaches can get athletes where ever they coach (Clemson, Bama, Ohio State).

Your comment on Richt is complete bias. Future, Richt could easily land an HC gig if desired. Also saying Diaz can't be included in a list of ex-coaches.

That wasn't the point of my post. My point is that we have no advantage because it takes an elite coach to win at Miami. Elite coaches can win anywhere.

I agree. So, so what's our advantage if it comes down to having a NFL level coach?

One is still our coach, so he can't become a head coach again until he leaves. Another (Richt) could easily get a head coaching gig if he wanted too. This leaves Golden and Shannon, and Golden has been rumored for several jobs and probably wouldn't have issues landing them. Shannon has been the...

Sure, we can always blame the coaches, but isn't Miami suppose to be the one place that anyone can succeed? If it takes an Urban Myer to win at Miami then Miami has no bigger of an advantage than Ohio State.

Coker Shannon Golden Richt Diaz I guess we are going to wait until we hit 30 coaches to finally rule them out as the main problem.

Because of graduation. You can't measure a slope based on one variable. We will know if progression occurs next year.

You need a lot of athletes to run the triple option. The Citadel has a better OL than us.

You have to look at the talent with respect to position. For example, their kicker is more talented than ours. If the opposite had been true then we would have one. Their offensive line is more talented than ours (We have a 2 star true freshman starting). If our OL was better then we would have...

You have made the assumption that we have more raw talent than those teams.

The key is the timing of those changes. Again the larger the ship the larger the turn. New executives are always given time to hire their people, and apply their plan.

Your suggesting we played more physical than both teams?

It is fair to say that the OL Manny has been given is worse then any OL we have seen at Miami in a long time. If the offense wasn't an issue then Mark Richt would still be our head coach. The struggles on defense are do to a new DC and the poor offensive play.

Solid post, those are our players...that's it though.

Actually yes, many companies decline for years without removing an executive. The larger the ship the longer it takes it to turn.
