I’ve been pleasantly surprised D. In a town of about 40k, I’ve met at least 15-20 U fans. And what’s even more encouraging is about half are in their 20’s - and I’m smack dab in the middle of UTK and VT country.

I believe the U brand is very strong. Even in the rinky dink *** town I live in in upper NETN, the brand is not only recognizable, but respected. Anywhere I travel with my U gear on, people recognize it and acknowledge it often. This recognition and respect can not and will not be ignored.

No doubt they have some leverage and surely the B1G would gladly accept them. It might make them get off the pot one way or the other. They can afford to sit back and wait it out if necessary.

Geographically, the B1G would not be a bad choice. Culturally, way outta wack. PAC 12 makes absolutely no sense. The ACC needs to put the squeeze on the dormers and tell them either include your football team or we drop all your other sports. It might send them to another conference but so be it.

Logistically, this makes a helluva lot of sense. I’ve mentioned recently logistics should play a large role in any expansion or re-alignment.

Unless there’s a mass exodus, I just don’t see the Tobacco Road bunch bolting for another conference. And as it is today, why would Clemp$on leave? They’ve got **** near an automatic bid to the CFP. All the rest of the teams in the ACC - except for us - would get their asses kicked in the SEC.

Basketball might play a role in NC and even VA - Dook, NC, UVA.

Logistics HAS to play a role in the decision making process. I just don’t see it being feasible for us to travel to the west coast 1-2-3 times a year. Let alone anything west of the Mississippi. Anything east of the Mississippi could probably be fair game.

Geographically, it’s not a fit and I don’t see how it helps us in recruiting and finances. Right now, I believe the ACC is our best fit.
