He did the same from 84-88 for JJ....He was JJs go to guy in ref to recruiting, long before what he did from 95-2000. People need to realize, it was Butch who closed on most of the recruits from 84-88...not just the kids from 95-2000. Add them all together, and in my opinion he's the premier...

I don't completely buy that. As @TemplarCane said, our OL was the best since Butch/Coker (same thing) and I don't believe it was solely Goldens defense.

If he would've got rid of Donut boy...he'd have been alot more successful....another hard headed decision.
