    Small, but significant domino

Exactly what I’ve been arguing with people about for weeks. People really believe we’re going to cancel a football season and the 11,000+ scholarship athletes are going to lock themselves in their closets until January? Insanity.

    Small, but significant domino

Of course not. But I think it’s rooted in 2 things, and for the record I’m not saying either is logical or not, just imo this is the thinking: 1. conference games are generally more regionalized than OOC games. Of course not for Miami, who is in the same conference as a team in Boston, but...

Wasn’t this the premise behind the Arkansas State game a few years ago? But that may have been different cause it was a home and home and they’re an FBS school. I really don’t remember.

Agree with this....I’m just waiting for the first athlete to get really sick from it, and then we’ll truly see panic and irrational decision making. Right now it’s kinda being tiptoed around. Clemson has 38 kids who got it (OH MY ******* GOD!!!!!!), but none of them are really sick or showing...

    Small, but significant domino

Probably a pretty decent guess at this point. I read an article last night with Larry Scott (yes, I know he’s a certified dumbass) and he said that he speaks with the other P5 commissioners every morning and they are planning for every scenario, one being conference games only. Certainly...

I’d be interested to know the details of the contract with Wagner. If Miami is on the hook for money regardless if the game is played or not, they’re not coming down here.

    Small, but significant domino

Of course. But I was asking for your feelings on the subject. What’s a significant development towards whether or not we have a normal season, or any season at all? If a Week 1 OOC game between 2 FBS schools is cancelled tomorrow, just as a hypothetical, is that a significant domino? Or we just...

So when are we allowed to pay attention? When an FBS vs FBS game is cancelled?
  9. OrangeBowlMagic

    Small, but significant domino

Hence the reason why I said small but significant. Notre Dame now, in almost all likelihood, plays 11 games this year, at best. Again, not doomsday. But certainly significant and not a decision that is headed in the right direction.

    Small, but significant domino

First FBS game, as far as I know, is now cancelled. Now, it’s being cancelled because an FCS school is saying they can’t play it. So it’s not exactly doomsday. But it’s certainly significant and without question not good.
