Where Miami sits in ACC race after another road loss

The Miami Hurricanes have now played 77.7 percent of their ACC schedule following Saturday’s loss to the Virginia Cavaliers. Despite the loss, Miami has more than likely secured a spot near the top of the ACC standings.

With two weeks left in the regular season, the Hurricanes are seeking for what would be their second ACC title in the last two years.

Miami sits at 21-6 overall and 10-4 in conference play. Joe Lundari still has the Hurricanes around a No. 9 seed in the NCAA Tournament, but the bigger question right now is, where exactly do they stand? And where do the computers project them to finish with three Quad 1 opportunities still ahead?

Duke is the team to beat, they're alone at the top, even beating No. 1 Michigan yesterday. Behind them, Virginia and the Hurricanes are right there, with Clemson and NC State not to far off. It’s tight from No. 2 through No. 5, basically a couple games separating everybody. The middle is crowded too. A bunch of teams are hovering around .500, and seeding is going to swing fast over the next week or two. March is coming and nobody’s locked into anything yet.
