I was talking more about Reggie shooting 3's. The dunk was epic

Reggie shoots 3s on occasion at the beginning of games too. He wasn't showboating, he thinks he's Kadji.

I remember before the season, Coach L was talking about who had the green light to shoot threes during games. A player had to make a certain number of threes in practice. I'm guessing Reggie ended up around that threshold... of course, after the 2nd three, Coach L immediately sat him down (and rightfully so... not because of any showboating, but because we don't want him getting bad habits out there).

I was very surprised to see unc not try to play zone really the rest of the game when it seemed to be somewhat effective against us in the 1st half. They could not guard us at all man-to-man, not many teams in the whole country can do that right now actually.

The X-Factor for this team continues to be the play of our SF, we get any type of contribution from Brown or TMJ and this team is scary good. The play of our guards has been consistently impressive, and we know what to expect from our BIGS.

perhaps you forgot we were shooting lights out? why would anyone play a zone against a team shooting like us tonight?

The only time all game that the offense looked out of sync, and we were not getting ANYthing going to the basket was when they went to the zone. It took away our post up game (they crashed to the bigs), our drive and kick game (got WIDE open threes all day from this), and the pick and roll was ineffective. We had to shoot contested threes, way behind the line, although we did make a few.

We got a ton of open looks 2night because of our guards being able to break down the defense and kick to open shooters.

It was a simple observation, really the only small piece of concern I saw in an otherwise perfect performance. Ive seen a few other teams play zone against us this year and seen similar results, we settle for too many contested 3s.

We shot them out of the zone. You don't play a 2-3 zone against a team that can't miss from downtown... that's just asking to get throttled.

The only time we went cold was when they played zone, deep contested threes are harder to make then wide open ones.. we didn't get any wide open looks in the 4-6min they played zone

Most of the time i agree, but the shot difference was just sooo much. Most of our misses came from that stretch i guarantee it

There was an almost 4min stretch mid way thru the 1st half when they were playing zone, we did not score a point, and we were 0-4 shooting jumpers.. just saying, and right after that when they went back to man 4 straight 3s made

I wonder how these big wig coaches feel about getting out coached by the L at UM.

They wish he had stayed at a mid-major the rest of his life.

There are fantastic coaches everywhere that don't always get the top shelf talent, but they take what they get and turn them into excellent players. Mark Few at 'Zaga, Brad Stevens at Butler, Shaka Smart at VCU, and on and on and on.

PS - Larranaga saw our roster and had this season in mind when he took the job, I have no doubt of that at all. Dude saw the talent going wasted and jumped at the chance.
Pps
Haith saw this roster and had at least an NIT Final Four in mind
