FIU, Ball State, Temple?

Very unimpressive hire.
I don't proclaim to know anything about S&C, but FIU to Ball State to South Carolina (assistant) to Temple seems like a solid career progression. If he doesn't know anyone in the game, sometimes you don't get fast tracked to the huge universities.

He's also 36, he's still a young coach.

Manny Diaz knows how important this hire is - he's not ******* around. I'll trust his judgement on this one for now.

Manny kept Patke, Rumph, and Banda on staff. Those are 3 good reasons not to trust him. You gonna have your heart broken if you trust that man.
I agree with you. At this point, though, we can’t do anything else but hope for the best. 20 years of irrelevance will break a man.

He fits the mold of the type of coaches he wants. Let’s see what winter workout results look like.

Which is?

As long as Diaz thinks he'll do a good job and he's not morbidly overweight like our last S&C coach, then I say huzzah!

Paging the guys who love everyone we hire! Get in here, and convince me this is a great hire. I want to be convinced.

And don’t show me a generic footballpoop tweet that says two coaches who didn’t take him to their new jobs love him.

Didn’t Collins offer him the job at GT but he declined?

Does Manny even try to do nation wide searches or does he just hire everyone that he has had a prior relationship with. In order to take the next step you have to invest more time and effort in finding experienced coaches with innovative talent!

Every single guy that they've lost has gone to one of the 'elite' programmes that are obviously dropping bags to recruit them.

I get that we want our coaches to do better and lock down South Florida, but they're losing to insurmountable odds. Coach Kuligoswki couldn't recruit worth a lick here and now suddenly he's a killer on the trail? Why wasn't his resume pulling in kids to the U?

It's not a fair fight and, quite frankly, I think we should focus on the 3 and 4 star kids with a chip on their shoulder and forget about the 'elite' kids who you have to wipe the **** of for 5 years - only to see them leave for Alabama.

If we start to reel off multiple 10 win seasons then we'll have a recruiting tool to rival the bags that are being dropped.
If that’s the model, bring back Clitt Hurts and tell him, “Do what you did at Louisville.”

Go look up mjackson posts today. He has some first hand knowledge of results. Sounded good to me.

You guys really care that much about not getting a "big name" at this position? Oh I'm sure y'all thought Big Gus would turn us into a Sec school eh? I bet Temple players were in better condition than ours!
