Actually a bit more happy about this. I was thinking with Fedora and to a point Applewhite, they would be a one and done type of hire. This has a more longevity if successful type of hire
Yeah, because he will suck so badly no one will poach him. Just what the **** we need. There is not one **** thing about this hire that screams aggressive, innovative, or ANYTHING like that. This is like hiring Mark Richt all over again. ***** Diaz, and the entire UM administration of cheap @$$es.

LMAO cheap? This is the guy UGA AND BAMA Wanted. He ain't cheap at all. I mean most of the fan base knows this was a thru the roof hire ( honestly I never dreamed we would have a guy of this caliber I thought we would have to go the Fedora or Applewhite route ) but if you want to be irrational about it that is your right. No way anyone can hate this hire . Sure you might of preferred someone else but when 2 of the 3 best programs over the last 5 years are extremely ****ed we hired their guy we are working on a whole other level from where UM has been for 15 years at least. This is was a boss move by Manny.

It is funny people were ****ed Diaz took so long but he had no choice his guy was coaching 2 bad *** QBs in the National Championship game . All makes sense now.

Am I the only one who feels completely underwhelmed by this hire? Pro style offense for life, bro.

Edit: for the "oh your just ants at a picnic" crowd, enlighten me as to why this is a good hire? His results as an OC/play caller are underwhelming. Stats posted in this thread: https://www.canesinsight.com/threads/the-tale-of-dan-penos-in-numbers.144499/#post-3796996

He was the head coach at Central Michigan from 2010-2014:
Total offense:
2010: 49th
2011: 57th
2012: 64th
2013: 110th
2014: 70th

Here’s what he does as offensive coordinator at Arkansas:

2015: 25th
2016: 54th
2017: 94th

Tell me why I should be excited about this hire without using the word "Bama"?

Dan Enos is a Top 5-Top 10 Offensive Guru, and he will prove it here.

Hope all of you that are shytting on the guy without knowing much about him or giving him a chance are ready to eat some Crow-A La Carte.

This guy is the antithesis of Richterscale. Excellent hire in my opinion.

One of you is way off here. Is it the guy claiming Enos is a top 5-10 offensive guru based on ___? Or the guy who posted Enos offensive rankings?

I'm not ready to throw my hands up in disgust. But I'm not about to praise the guy for having 2 top 50 offenses in 8 seasons, until I see what he does here.

This is a strange hire. Manny has no prior relationship with him, unlike his other hires. Really wonder how his name got to Manny to begin with.

Guess I'm waiting to see how he fills out his staff before going into fck it mode.

I bet the offensive line coach will not be a clown!!!
ya this guy has worked with bielma so he should know good oline coach. Arkansas and Wisconsin all had great olines under bielma

With his deep Michigan ties, maybe he can land us some big, beefy linemen that are worthy of the name.

It will be up-tempo and have spread concepts. It's like being a chef; If you can cook well, you can make most any dish taste good and have your special twist.

hopefully we can get someone with up-tempo spread experience on the staff.

You gotta trust Manny knows what he's doing.
Hopefully brings in that Princeton guy as offensive analyst

Miami has always run a pro style offense and its always been successful. Its been a staple. It why our guys make pro bowls, hall of games, etc... Bottom line, we need a top notch OL coach or no one would be successful.

Great hire. About time we took from Bama instead of the other way around

I'm very intrigued by this hire.

I'm not all in, but just very intrigued.

Love with what he did with quarterbacks. Love what he did at Arkansas in 2015.

Rest of the resume is a bit of a mixed bag. I'll go in with an open mind.

More importantly, IMO, is getting someone from a tree of a successful team. Miami needs infrastructure building. Reorganization. Focus. A guy that says...hey, this is what real teams are doing, maybe we should do that. Enos checks that box, at least, from my checklist of wants for people on this staff.
