Transfer guard Anthony Mack granted waiver by NCAA, eligible to play at UM immediately

Paul Austria
Canes fans can breathe easy and rejoice today as word got out that Anthony Mack, a guard who transferred to Coral Gables from the University of Wyoming this past April, has been granted a hardship waiver by the NCAA and will be immediately eligible to play this season instead of having to sit out a season. With this ruling, Mack will also have four years of eligibility at Miami. He was a true freshman at Wyoming last season and went down with an injury before he could suit up for any game action.

Mack is one of three transfers to Miami this offseason, joining former FGCU guard Zach Johnson and former Oklahoma guard Kameron McGusty. While McGusty must sit out this season, Mack and Johnson will likely play vital roles in the rotation this year as the Canes have to get creative in finding ways to replace the production of Bruce Brown and Lonnie Walker, both of whom are in the NBA.

Hey yo Paul McGusty has to sit out a year. Don’t do that to us lol

Lol my bad guys. Just to clarify, McGusty still has to sit out this year, I was just mentioning he's one of three transfers to join the Canes this season.
