Welcome boys and girls to 'The Watsco Watch' where me and my fellow friend @Kamdyn Burton˙ will give you the latest news around the college basketball world and, of course, the Miami Hurricanes basketball team.
Think of this mainly as “The Bank,” that @DMoney produces but basketball.
We will give you who the Miami Hurricanes have contacted, what we’re hearing, the latest rumors surrounding the Miami Hurricanes recruiting, this is the first article of 'The Watsco Watch', let’s get into it!

What I'm hearing
- Miami basketball has been linked to Georgia center Somto Cyril, and if you’ve been following CanesInSight closely, he will be on campus this Friday. If everything goes great, I expect Miami to be the team to beat here. The staff still has to close this one out, but to my knowledge, the two schools involved are Miami and Arkansas, with Miami leading the way. Miami is reportedly putting together a strong NIL package for Somto.
- Two weeks ago, I expected the Hurricanes coaching staff to contact Missouri guard transfer Anthony Robinson II. However, I haven’t heard much since then. From what I’m hearing he is expected to take a visit to Florida State soon. He is a former teammate of Marcus Allen at Missouri, and he is from Tallahassee, so makes sense for him to go back home and play for Florida State, if he chooses that route.
- Miami has also contacted Villanova guard transfer Acaden Lewis. I expect him to be the Hurricanes’ next point guard. Miami is currently battling Texas, with Miami leading the way according to my sources. No visit has been set up.
- According to CBBContent on Twitter, Providence transfer Jamier Jones is being linked to Miami and Missouri as the two schools to watch. I would consider Missouri the one to beat here.
- Miami is in contact with many top prospects. I’ll keep you updated through the transfer portal with what I’m hearing, but my confidence level for Acaden Lewis and Somto Cyril are high on Miami.
