The Good and The Bad From Paradise Camp

Problem with this year’s camp is high school practices start this week. Coaches do not want them participating and risking injury at a camp.
That does raise the question of why the end o July date was selected for this year’s camp.

also good: lighting system didn't get triggered once despite all of the storm activity around dade county. coach richt was very happy about that.

Can't speak to the coaches holding kids out. Yes the former players had to get certified to coach, but I did not even see them observing the camp. The only one I saw even watching the drills was Sapp.
did you not see mckinnie? he was the biggest guy out there.

portis was on the field and i'm pretty sure tolbert bain popped up at some point.

I agree with the bad,Brownlee should have competed. Yes he does have to prove he is worth a spot/scholly. Competition is what made Miami, Miami. You guys that were there, to open saturday nights drills in the orientation, didnt you hear Richt Greentreen games should be your hardest games and competition is needed. You guys baffle me sometimes. No wonder some kids are so entitled everyone should have competed. Especially if your not a blue chipper.

Like I said, I can't speak to what happened before the camp started.

Before the camp started the former players i guess met up with their positions for brief time in the position rooms.

I heard about this, but I really wish they did the speeches at they end. I was looking forward to hearing those.

Disagree on Brownlee, anyone who has doubted him in this fanbase is just plain stupid.

He's the best CB commit we have, he's been a pure Corner since his Fresh year at Hallandale & absolutely stood out last year in CC's Defense.

He's got great ball skills & great long arm length, good speed & is a technician Corner that play both inside nickel slot & outside Boundary CB.

In his official commit thread I compared him to a Duane Starks or Brandon Harris type, that still stands. He killed it all Spring & Summer on the camp circuit, which earned him his offer from us in the first place.

Would've been nice for him to compete at Paradise, but he has nothing to prove.

Not only that, but why would a commit with nothing to prove risk getting hurt? I'm assuming two a days start tomorrow in South Florida. They start here in Virginia. A kid here torn a hammy two weeks ago at a camp. Best player on his team and already committed to James Madison. May miss his opener on the 24th.

Mckinnie was on the field. Maybe they werent that noticable to you. Beason/Vilma was there. I dont know there were so much people, current players and former players that maybe they werent that noticable?

Me to. Richt didnt let them speak much b4 the camp either. Not sure if they just kinda wanted to get the thing going. Because we were sitting there for awhile. If they got a chance to speak right b4 would have been cool. Some may have not wanted to though.

We know brownlee is good and I don’t get why if we take nunn we would drop brownlee that makes no sense to me just stack them and create depth

Brownlee will not be dropped , zero percent chance. Kid is a really good cover corner. One of the best down there.

Totally disagree on Brownlee competing. He HAS THIS WHOLE CAMP SEASON/SPRING. He has went against better wrs all circuit than what liklely was at the camp. **** Carol City is loaded at wr so im sure hes getting work there. Didnt need to see him there imo to know he is the goods. Not sure why some of yall think he is a borderline recruit..but not Couch?. And i really dont think either are...but its strange actually thinking a Hallandale/Carol City kid is scared to suit up anytime lol

The DB Good...yes. He likely never would have saw wr this level this year up in Orlando.

Would of liked to see the Lakeland kids compete. (zip, summerall) But seems they had and were having a good time.

A bunch of cb’s to Florida for summerall.. even after spending the night here?

It’s clear that majority of players were told by their respective HS coaches to avoid any contact drills. Why have a camp so close to HS practice? Holley is a big time steal, and watch Georgia and Bama try to flip him.

This is the only week we could have a camp because of the dead period

That does raise the question of why the end o July date was selected for this year’s camp.

Supplementing what moderator said, Richt also said this year there was a 4 week (versus previous 2 week) dead period and many colleges had to have their events this weekend.

Next years should be a lot better with the ipf being done

If Harley keeps up the recruiting effort, we are going to add a "t" to his name. He'll be Hartley Jr.
