I was worried that Scarlett plateaued after his sophomore year, but this move to STA has been a godsend. He's showing more shake than I thought he had and STA's offense utilizes his power game more than University's did.

If there is a better back in the country I'd love to see him.

I can agree with this but I never thought he hit a slump. He was still their workhorse, and still the jacked kid who could run fast and glide past defenders. The only thing I can think of was his conditioning sucked. I remember last year at games after like 3 or even 2 consecutive carries he would be sucking wind and would tap himself out. Any player who isnt able to handle a couple carries and sucking wind is going to be looking for contact, they wont look as good. I think there were comments about his conditioning at the time on this board too, I always laughed at it because we all know how canes fans can be when a player doesnt seem UM bound. But besides the natural growth a soph to junior to confident senior is he seems in better shape.

I have heard of STA "GREAT" S&C program in past, guess its helping him too

Scarlett and Dexter is the best RB duo committed in America, maybe our Gurley/Marshall combo.

Jordan Scarlett is a good RB, I like Mark Walton better because he's light on his feet, always falls forward, he's elusive (great spin move), he can catch out of the backfield like a WR, has better vision. Scarlett is bigger stronger & faster but doesn't do those little things Walton can.

To me that just sounds like two different types of RB. Not who is better

The only great move Walton has is his spin move... I will agree with you that Walton has better vision.... But after watching Scarlett last night he has better feet better elusiveness in the open field, better feet, more power and of course more speed.. Ill give you Waltons hands but thats nt fair because they dont use Scarlett like that he might have great hands too.. BUt you are right Scarlett doesnt have great vision but woth all of his other talents makes him very special...better than walton

I have seen Walton and Scarlett play many times the last 2 years. Walton is a very good back who moves the chains, but Scarlett is elite. Backbreaker and gamebreaker. I have watched a lot of the greats from Dade/Broward counties over the last twenty five years, and he is in the top 10 athletically. AND it looks like someone finally taught him how to be a running back--run low (used to run really high), behind your pads, don't use 3 steps when 1 step will do, etc.

Scarlett sort of reminds me of Todd gurley...physical but quick
