Thank goodness that Zion Nelson developed the way he has and that we have DJ Scaife who can play all along the line is a solid doing it.

I am pinning all my hopes and dreams on Adam ElGammal.

So, we offset a likely strike out on Kennedy with a possible home run on Zion.

Is Kennedy a one-year transfer? Maybe we’ll get lucky and he’ll develop into a serviceable backup.

Kennedy didn’t “dominate” at a lower level. He wasn’t even first-team All Patriot League. He must be a helluva marketer if he legit had all those offers from big time P5 programs like Oklahoma. First thing I questioned when everyone had him penciled in as our new left or right tackle was why he couldn’t even be a top guy in the Patriot League.

I legit assumed he was 1st team in his conference given his recruitment. My bad. I don't evaluate based off stats, accolades, hype, etc. but not being 1st-team at that level is a definite red flag.

I obviously was only able to watch his youtube highlights where he handled his assignment without showing plus traits that project to better competition. It makes sense that the plays we didn't see were representative of a guy who's not even at the top of the Patriot League.

Once again our Achilles heel is depth. The starting lineup ultimately is meaningless. Championships or the playoff appearances can't be achieved without solid depth.
