South Florida '17- the TEs

South Florida has not historically produced TEs, but that's slowly starting to change. Clive Walford looks like a future star in Oakland, Nick O'Leary was a very good college player, and Gerald Christian and Nick Eubanks were both highly recruited. Miami signed Michael Irvin II out of Broward (via Dallas) last year, and it's very possible they sign a South Florida TE for two years in a row.

Kemore Gamble, 6'3, 215 lbs (Southridge)- Gamble is a WR/TE tweener, but he should have enough lower-body strength to transition into an H-back. Good ball skills and an aggressive mindset as a blocker. His brother is Ed Stinson, who played DL at Alabama and is a member of the Arizona Cardinals. Miami commitment who is developing a relationship with Coach Dugans.

Ravian Pierce, 6'3, 240 pounds (SW Mississippi CC via Plantation)- Pierce was one of my favorite players in the class of 2014. He's big, athletic and physical to the point of dirty. He sat out a year before enrolling in junior college, where he has thrived. He even returned kicks like Richard Gordon. Pierce has been committed to Mississippi State since high school but I wouldn't be surprised if his recruitment opens back up. Future NFL player if he stays focused.

Dave Richards, 6'2, 200 pounds (Norland)- Richards is a skinnier version of Gamble. Talented receiver who is not afraid of contact. He will need to gain weight before playing H-back in college, but he can always be a possession receiver. Syracuse has offered.

MEGATRON - Dave Richards highlights - Hudl

I remember Ravian Pierce from a few years ago. Think Miami pursues him this time around?

I hope so. We may not have a huge need for an upperclassman TE but he is a stud.

I remember him too, but had forgotten until now. Nice call D$. I also remember there was something about him that was kind of a red flag. Based on his history since, maybe it was grades? Or was there something else?

I hope so too then. Pierce and Gamble at TE and close up the position for 2017

Ill just take Gamble thats it for TE.... only because we snagged Haskins and Irvin this year and both will probably redshirt and you still have Herndon, Njdoku and Washington for 2017...Dobard is gone after this year....

Think it was just grades. Mississippi State has stayed on him, so if it's something else they don't seem to care.

Could be a taker, hut like mentioned he's an Upper classman, log jam at TE currently. Njoku and Herndon return in 2017, plus Irvin and other 2016 TE, so that'll leave him probably one season to significantly contribute and Gamble 1 year to redshirt and get bigger. Staff may see a need to add talent at other positions.

i doubt they recruit anything other than Gamble.

Richt may head back up to GA to get a blocker, though they can make Washington into the more in line blocker...were pretty stacked at te/h back for awhile.

Career reviews

Kemore Gamble - Ditched us for UF. Redshirted first year, caught 7 passes in 2018, stranded behind Kyle Pitts in '19 and '20. Caught 31 passes for 414 yards & 3 tuddies in 2021. Should get drafted in April.

Ravian Pierce - Syracuse JUCO transfer originally from Plantation High. 29 - 263 - 4 in 2017. 16 - 105 - 3 in 2018. Tried out for the Cleveland Browns in 2019 but didn't make the team, signed with the Bills but was cut in camp.

Dave Richards - Walked on at FAU, didn't record any stats, unclear if he is still playing football.
