All our QBs are the worst, and Perry will step right in and take the starting job first day of fall practice. I'm thinking 3 Heismans.

Any word on who the starting OTs were, for most of the scrimmage? And how did they do?

Garv should have been a 5 star. There wasn't another DE in the 2017 class I liked better than him. Venables has the best eye for DL talent in the country, and he wanted Garv badly.

Fact is if sheriffs and rosier was fsu or uf options to be qb miami fans would be talking tons of ****.

If noone takes separates themselves by the end of spring and Perry comes in and does what he is capable of there is no reason he wont be our starter week 3 in Tallahassee when it really matters. We need a difference maker who the offense belives in, if they think Perry is that dude go for it. We all know our defensive front 7 has the traits to be elite and the Dbacks will be solid once we get the influx of talent in fall. We need a leader for the next few years and if Perry is just about the same as our other QBs there is no reason why we shouldn't give him the keys..

We need someone who can execute the offense efficiently and avoid turnovers... We don't need a "difference maker".

I've always been high on Evan and I always thought Mike Smith to be a solid player
Shaq said that Mike Smith and BJ both got alot more snaps at MLB... Said Pinkney had a very good scrimmage ... Mike Smith had a good scrimmage .. every body else was ok.. he said front four was crushing.. the new DE Garvin had a great scrimmage ...and Bethel was impressive also

Ignorant Miami fans maybe.

It is hard to truly have an opinion either way on a guy who started one game and another who barely practiced with the team until this Spring.

Couldn't agree more.

We will have enough playmakers outside of the quarterback, but his main job will be to do what you said, handle the offense efficiently, and get the ball in the playmakers hands.

It would be great to have a difference maker at quarterback, a huge play maker, but can we realistically expect that with our current lineup? The short answer is no. The greater risk is of somebody that changes the momentum of the game with turnovers.

Be efficient, make the right reads, make the right calls, get the ball into the playmakers hands. Minimize turnovers. If we get that out of the quarterback position, we will win at least 10 or 11 games. Guaranteed.

I disagree difference makers at QB are what championships are won with in todays game, unless you have Bamas defense. 2010 Auburn with Cam, 2013 Semenholes with Winston, Clemson last year with Watson.

The funny thing is I believe that our defense can be the gold standard everyone points to instead of Alabama.
As long as we keep on recruiting top notch and the coaching staff is kept intact.

Of course you want a "difference maker" that's not the point I think.
If you don't have one then out of the group you have you need to find the one that will manage the offense and avoid turnovers.

sherriffs had 39 TDs and 4 INTs in his high school career I read on here a couple days ago right?

why are people sleeping on those monster numbers?

Because he didn't come in with all the stars or hype. U know that recruiting hype = success on the field, right? With our Def., all we need out of our QB, is to NOT turn the ball over and we'll be fine. We're getting back to having Miami quality skill guys, and depth, all over the field. If Sherriffs is the guy that can get the ball to our playmakers and escape the pocket 3-4 times a game to pick up a first down, then I'll be good.
