Right now Retrepo is bigger than Berrios ever was. Kid just had a physical last week and he's a rocked up 5'10" 190lbs. Their 40 times are basically identical.

And why is anybody comparing Restrepo's HIGH SCHOOL JUNIOR measurables to Braxton's COLLEGE SENIOR (NFL combine) measurables?

Biggest difference between these two players is that Restrepo plays down here, not that boo-foo NC ****
He embarrasses South Florida kids at every camp. He was by far the best player on the field (once again) at last weekend's Legends of South Florida camp.

Put all of the stupid combine numbers aside. There's specific intangibles that come with playing the game at a certain level. Knowing how to set DB's up during a route, knowing how to make defenders miss in the open field, adjusting to the ball while it's in the air, etc.

He's a better FOOTBALL PLAYER than Berrios. He has more wiggle in the open field. Fvck them measurables. (he's going to leave here bigger, faster & stronger anyway)

How much more do you think his frame can handle? What do you think his ideal college playing weight is? 205?

Fades to the back of the endzone or nah?

I’m ready to see him ball in the Geico opening. Is Knighton recovered from his injury?

The combine numbers I brought up are from Berrios when he was in Highschool. So there’s that argument.
Now saying that Restrepo is a better wr than Berrios at the same stage is just ignorant and surprising coming from you. From what I see you garner much respect on this board.
In the end Restrepo will be a DB when it’s all said and done here, especially if we get a 4th wr in this class.

Can’t argue with stupid.....

Ok. Have you seen Restrepo live? (in any setting)
I'm willing to bet that you haven't.

I told you in my previous post why I think Restrepo is a better football player. It's the intangibles. Playing down here his whole life has given Restrepo intangibles that Berrios didn't have.

Berrios would routinely get tripped up/tackled in the open field. I still have visions of him catching bubble screens and getting tripped/tackled by a Safety in 1-on-1 situations. Defenders can barely get a hand on Restrepo at 7-on-7 touch tournaments. For all of Berrios "elite" measurables he never could make people miss with the ball in his hands. I think he did it once in his entire career and it was against Washington State. 🙄

I don't know why some people always think the best way to hype up our new Canes/recruits is to compare them to our former players. Nor will I ever understand why others get into those arguments and end up ****ting on our new Canes/recruits in some fvcked up, unnecessary "defense" of our former players. But I definitely don't think ****ting on our former players (at least the ones who represented the U well on and off the field) is the right way to go about rebutting that ****.

Don't fight stupid with stupid.

Berrios is an elite athlete at WR and was a great Cane on and off the field.
Restrepo is an elite athlete at WR (and Safety) and will be a great Cane on and off the field.
These things aren't mutually exclusive.

I actually live in Miami and saw St Thomas play twice last year.
Never noticed Restrepo last year, he didn’t flash at all.
Did you forget in Highschool Berrios played at the opening? Guess you did and he did it vs elite players.
Let’s see how Restrepo does this year cause I clearly don’t see what you do.
Wouldn’t be surprised if R ends up playing DB

He coaches Restrepo.

I like Berrios, had the big senior year for UM after a ho-hum (some due to injuries) career...I still remember him getting tackled by FSU's punter in a dead to rights 1-on-1 on that 4th quarter punt return.

Now UM still scored on that drive (then the fatal blocked XP), but would have been nice to score with more time on the clock. There's no way your punt returner is supposed to get tackled by the punter there, none.

I dont think your nuts.

But at the same age..Restrepo is more advaced as a wr.

Berrios if i can recall played rb up their in Raleigh. Restrepo has been bombing kids down here the last 3 years at wr.

Berrios killed it at the opening his Sr year. Made a bunch of elite Dbs look bad.

That was the one problem with bb8.....i saw numerous times him getting tripped up. If X is bb8 without the trip ups hes going to be a beast

Let's just wait and see.

I'll bet he makes an impact before Berrios did.

Not to turn this into a Berrios bash thread but ****’s act like Berrios played at a high level Freshmen-Junior years. In fact, his performance was very disappointing. He took the next step his senior year and had clutch moments vs. FSU, VT and ND. It took years for him to adapt to College level. Hopefully, Retro is ready sooner.

@Coach Macho :

TOS had a nice interview with Restrepo this morning. Personally, he's becoming one of my favorite recruits. He said he does "3 a day" workouts which include workouts with trainer, agility and lifting, and working with receivers coach on routes, etc. He also talked about the group chat the 2020 class has and how he posts in it first thing every morning, even if it's just to ask what everyone is doing, etc. They make sure everyone who commits gets in it and they welcome them as family. He said that everyone is showing leadership in that group chat and he is really excited for his class to get to campus.

He mentioned that the coaches invited him down to campus to unofficially visit for the first practice next week. Bet all the local guys will show up, too....
