Pro Canes Update: Week 2

Week 2 of the NFL season wrapped up on Monday night. Here is how the Pro Canes fared this week.

Frank Gore continues to cheat father time as the NFL veteran carried the ball 19 times for a total of 68 yards and one touchdown, along with 2 catches for 15 yards. Duke Johnson had 6 rushing attempts and totaled 31 yards. Mark Walton rounds out the running backs with 3 carries for 15 yards.

Phillip Dorsett was the best receiver for the second week in a row. He caught the ball 3 times for 39 yards. Allen Hurns had 1 catch for 13 yards, while Braxton Berrios had 1 punt return for 5 yards.

Greg Olsen was one of the bright spots of Carolina’s offense, as he caught 6 passes for a total of 110 yards.

On the offensive line, Jon Feliciano, Seantrel Henderson, Brandon Linder, Danny Isidora, and Ereck Flowers all started for their respective teams.

In the trenches on the defensive side, Olsen Pierre had 1 sack, while RJ McIntosh and Chad Thomas each had 2 tackles, Calais Campbell had 4 tackles, and Al-Quadin Muhammad totaled 4 tackles and a forced fumble. Finally, Allen Bailey, Olivier Vernon, and Joe Jackson each had 1 tackle.

In the secondary, Rayshawn Jenkins had 1 tackle and an interception and Sheldrick Redwine came off the bench and totaled 2 tackles.

As for the specialists, Matt Bosher and Pat O’Donnell continue to boom punts. Bosher averaged 39.3 yards on 3 punts, while O'Donnell had 5 punts for a whopping 57.4 yards, including a career-long punt of 75 yards.
