Great stuff Lu. Very, very helpful.

I particularly liked your point that the emergence of A Richards as a deep threat could invite safety help, opening up the seam for Njoku and Herndon. Can't wait.

Lu sounds like he has some size to him. Could have possibly played some DT in his day.

Funny stuff all around in these posts. Not even close, Andrew. I played FS (some games at SS) and some slot WR till I broke my wrist and played w/ a cast. My favorite player ever is Ed Reed and my current favorites are guys like Earl Thomas and Eric Berry. Other than understanding OL/DL assignments and some general rules about their technique, I know next to nothing about OL/DL play. Weirdly, we have a ton of OL/DL guys on the board - of which only @gogeta seems to post consistently.

Here for the nerdy football talk and overall entertainment. Cheers.

LuCane sounds like he watches a good amount of film. very knowledgable about football. need more tape junkies on this board.

Lu is the god father of this mother ****er.

He's one of the originals, for sure.

Way back in the early 2000s, when I was a sophomore and Lu was a freshman at the U, we had one of those easy money work study gigs. It was there that Lu first introduced me to the old Grassy. We'd basically sit around talking football and watching recruit videos in the office for $7/hour or something. Frank Gore. Sean Taylor. Leon Williams. Roscoe Parrish. Willie Dixon. I met D$ sometime around then too, when he was a sophomore in HS scouting guys like Willie Williams at Pace.

Good stuff. I was a little younger than you guys. Graduated high school in 2001 from Palmetto High. I believe I started going to Grassy in 1997 or 1998. Back when the two helmets were in the front page along with a countdown.

Before there was canesinsight.com, there was canestime.com. And before that, there was grassy.com. The guy who ran it was named Bryan Knoll, and people called him "grassy." That was way back when the Peter Ariz was a dude named Mike Bakas, who used to post as HS Cane and know what he was talking about. The site's only competition was Ferman over at Canesport, but the best discussions were always on grassy (and then canestime). The early 2000's saw legends like Augie and Canesforever and Cogley dominating those boards. Dutch and esfnyc and 5x, and the raving lunatic that was mapcane. Sham insiders like GR8 and chef. Bomb.

Anyone know if those old webpages are archived anywhere?

and grassy ceased to exist because ?

On a side note, we went to Caneswear last week for the first time. Caneswear is the top Canes merchandise store, and it's not close. If you want to go to the top Canes store, Caneswear is it.

I agree....I live 10 minutes away and it's hard to not go in there without buying something.

GR8 turned out to be a Chefcane?

Saddened

Too much bad blood built up between certain cliques, as well as a few terrible moderators playing favorites with certain fraudulent ****boys masquerading as insiders. I still got feelings over the whole thing, so I'll leave it at that. HEH.

For what it's worth, you're welcome to come visit the WEZ and ask this question again. Lots of Grassy veterans like myself would be able to further fill in the blanks and go into more explicit detail, just don't wanna drag it up here. This place should be free of that nonsense and focused on Mark Richt turning this thing around in a hurry. Go Canes.
