Miami Gardens, FL.-- From kickoff to final whistle, it was all Miami during the Hurricanes' Saturday night showdown vs Central Michigan. The Hurricanes' offense flew past the Chippewas at category 5 speeds, with QB Darian Mensah recording 23/27 passing for 338 yards and 4 total touchdowns, tossing the rock to wideouts Malachi Toney, Cooper Barkate and Daylyn Upshaw for Miami TDs. Under classmen tailbacks Chris Wheatley-Humphery and Javian Mallory dominated on the ground, pounding the rock and earning scores of their own.
Defensively, Miami's front stifled Central Michigan's offense to just over 150 total yards. EDGE rusher Marquise Lightfoot shined with 2 sacks and a forced fumble, while LB Cam Pruitt led the team with 6 total tackles.
