PFF First-Round Mock Draft Includes Four Miami Hurricanes

After the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, the Hurricanes have seen a major boost in draft stock, especially defensive back Keionte Scott, who is now projected as a first-round pick in PFF’s post–Senior Bowl mock draft.

Pro Football Focus (PFF) dropped an updated 2026 first-round NFL Mock Draft on Monday morning, and four Hurricanes were included among the 32 picks. Two of them landed inside the top ten — you can probably guess who. The third and fourth came off the board later in the first round.

Rueben Bain was the first Canes player off the board, slotted at No. 2 overall to the Jets. Right behind him was Francis Mauigoa, projected No. 3 overall to the Cardinals. Miami stayed in the first-round mix with Akheem Messier coming off the board at No. 17 to Detroit. The Hurricanes rounded things out with Keionte Scott, projected No. 29 overall to the Chargers.

The last time a school had four players taken in the first round was just last year, when Ohio State saw four Buckeyes hear their names called in the opening 32 picks of the 2025 NFL Draft. That marked the first time in three years it had happened, and before Ohio State, it was Georgia in 2022, when the Bulldogs produced five first-round selections.

It’s only a mock, and a lot can change, but seeing four Hurricanes in the first round is another reminder that Miami’s talent level is trending where fans want it to be.

I peep Agent 0 at end of round 1. Not sure what he runs a 40 in, but if he hits 4.4, with his game tape, not sure how he gets passed top 40 picks

Makes big impact in run game, sets edge, textbook tackles, can blitz, and cover.
NFL doesn't give nickel CBs the credit they deserve. Could see him going in the 3rd unfortunately.

I always hope that any Cane player gets drafted by a well run franchise. Much like Cam Ward was last year.Bain to jets nightmare for Bain they are a badly run business worse than r\Raiders.Mauigoa would like to see him fall a bit to Washington
Medidor & Scott that’s great as Lions and Rams are well run.

This is a candidate for freezing cold takes, but I think Arvell Reece is going to get a GM fired. I didn’t see it against us at all and he is going to be an off ball linebacker drafted top 5? Idk about that
I think he's Parsons-lite. He's a top 10 lock If he weighs in at or close to his listed height/weight. His success, or lack thereof, will depend on which team drafts him. I hope the Jets get him though so Bain can play with Cam.

A solid nickel can be the difference between a good and great defense. That said, I think its still generally seen as a luxury to target pure nickel players. Most teams still hunt for the outside CB and then the nickel is next best among whoever didn't win a starting CB/S slot.

I don't disagree. Think they prefer the flexibility over the pure nickel piece.

I think Scott's a 2nd rnd talent, just have a feeling he falls to the third. Regardless, he's gonna play in the league.

Looks like Tarzan, played like Jane. Styles is the better player. But these NFL people love body types over game tape. (well most of them)

Ward with saleh/daboll could be lethal fr, they gotta nail the draft though. Get Francis to protect him
