I actually think the better comparison would be Vince Wilfork or Kendrick Norton. Sapp was more of a penetrating 3 technique who got into the backfield quickly and "played the run on the way to the quarterback". Nesta isn't the natural pass rusher Sapp was. He's more likely to play right over the center and force opponents to double team him or he'll collapse the pocket. Or in running situations, he has the ability to play two gap without getting stood up and overpowered. That's the reason he'll play early here. Most high school DTs aren't as well rounded and need a year of college coaching before being ready. The stat gobblers won't think he's all that great because he won't get tons of sacks(just like Norton) but the people who actually know the game will appreciate what he does. You don't get to have a weakside end going around the edge or linebackers flying cleanly to the ball without a guy like Silvera gobbling up blockers and eating double teams.
