Davis and Carter are nothing but jags. Offer nothing. We’re ****ed if we can’t land an elite DT in the portal. Too many jags on the defensive side.

I like him as a player and I think he does good things in multiple facets (especially block), but I simply don’t understand upshaw’s distribution of snaps relative to Wingo and Jacobs. We didn’t have enough possessions, but even in limited possessions I’d love to see either of those two guys put some pressure on a defense. We basically have to be perfect on offense already, so maybe get a bit more explosive so the margins don’t feel as tight.
Bro…. WR, LB, DL, DB…. The snap counts make zero sense.

So much for any hope of ever running 10 personnel. Were a full on 11/12 offense again, **** I’d expect significantly more 13 than 10. Mack and Damari combining to out snap EOC? Literally ZERO WR rotation? The LB rotation has been an absolute joke for over a yr now. Dline I wouldn’t say the backups have been great or anything, but they need some rotation and Blount plays way too much over Wilson imo

Desperately need to see poyser, Blount, Scott, mo get rotated out further on defense.

Would love to see upshaw get rotated far more for Jacobs/wingo. He just isn’t good enough to command that much time outside.

I thought K Davis was going to play a lot this season.
Watched him get pushed around sideways on some plays against Wake and does not look to me like a natural DT, but I’d give him or Scroggins some of Blount’s snaps and see wtf is what. Either Blount is hurt or outrageously uncomfortable at DE. Something is off.

Crazy how we regressed defensively from last year. I understand what we lost and the instability on the back end, but fuuuuuuuckkk its been brutal the last few games

I'm not on suicide watch like some of our fans seem to be. I recognize what you (and many others) pointed out. Either we adjust and change SOMETHING or it comes back to bite us at some point. I find the overreaction by may to just be kinda silly. We are still one of three (?) undefeated teams and we are currently ranked #1. The real season doesn't start for another month or so, and yes, I realize that how we finish plays a large factor in our seeding.
To me, the defense issues are simple. We've been running the same looks and stunts and have become predictable. Hetherman clearly prioritizes stopping the run, to the point of the pass coverage being a detriment. I don't necessarily disagree with that approach (not the detriment part). Other teams see it on film. Add in a secondary that was without their top 3 CBs for the first half of the season, got one back thus far, and the LBs can't cover. Teams have discovered that they can have success against us via short and intermediate passes to TE's and RBs who are mismatches for the LBs. Our tackling has sucked in secveral games, UNC being the latest. The approach we take lends itself to mising some tackles, but not as bad as we've been.
I think we can change things up a bit, go against our tendencies, and have some success. I do not think we are going to be a top 40 (sorry Casey Kasem) defense this year, but I do think we can at least be serviceable enough to mae another deep playoff run. Maybe even win it all.

Armondo Blount, Mohamed Toure, Justin Scott & Zech Poyser played way too much.

Scroggins, Pickett, Davis & Carter need way more snaps.

Bonner, Pruitt & Marcelin need way more snaps.

And Idk wtf we can do about Safeties, but somebody has to cut into Poyser's snaps.
Fitz I think has to move full time to FS now. I think for the long-term rest of the season it is best for us. We can’t afford to keep being picked apart over the middle given I have zero faith we play other Lbs at this point. I think we NEED Fitz to step up and be the problem solver that covers for the LBs and SS/Nickels failures in coverage.

I rather risk Lucas/Mack/Damari/Waters/Portis and Antoine/OJ if they ever get healthy at CB than keep shooting ourselves in the face like we have been.

Have Dunnigan+Poyser at SS. And Poyser+Thornton (maybe Portis) rotating at nickel.

Also Im assuming Dylan Day was hurt? He had been getting a lot more snaps and then none today. Idk if I’d rather have him in than Poyser, but at least some rotation especially when Poyser and Dunnigan is just getting cooked….

Also how about instead of Blitzing the Nickel/SS as much we ******* blitz our downhill run thumping lbs and not making them drop in coverage all the time when they literally don’t stop a single ******* thing ever unless a rb is running an angle route right to them…. Like Wiley and Toure can’t rush? I mean Toure shouldn’t even be near the field unless it’s 1st down or <3yds…..

Armondo Blount, Mohamed Toure, Justin Scott & Zech Poyser played way too much. AGREED

Scroggins, Pickett, Davis & Carter need way more snaps. AGREED

Bonner, Pruitt & Marcelin need way more snaps. WELL, A FEW MORE, AT LEAST.

And Idk wtf we can do about Safeties
, but somebody has to cut into Poyser's snaps. BRYCE HAS TO MOVE PERMANENTLY TO FS. OTHER THAN THAT 🤷‍♂️

Seems like every time I see #33 on the field, he's harrassing a QB.
