Coach Jai Lucas and the Miami Hurricanes coaching staff have secured their first commitment for the 2025 class, as shooting guard Dante Allen has pledged to Miami following his visit to the campus.

The Hurricanes coaching staff was on his recruitment since the day he decommitted from the University of Villanova.

Allen made unofficial visits earlier this year to Villanova and Georgia but decided to pledge to Miami.

Dante is a 6-foot-4, 220-pound combo guard from Montverde Academy, he is currently ranked as the No. 42 player in the Class of 2025. Additionally, he holds the position of the No. 6 combo guard nationally and is recognized as the No. 10 player in the state of Florida.

Allen plays for the Nightrydas Elite in the AAU circuit, and his head coach Andrew Moran played a crucial role in his recruitment to Miami.

He’s averaged 11.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game at Montverde Academy, shooting 48 percent from the field and 37 percent from three-point range this season.

Dante, welcome to Miami!

Seems like a Bensley type. Always need those type of guys in college who already come in ready to contribute and play a role and have the potential to do more down the line. Fits what Jai wanted in a tough defensive minded team.

done for today?
Multiple accounts posted the Allen news with graphics right at 5 ET, I would guess if something else happens today you can be here or on twitter and get the news. Seems like Allen and the next commit have been done for a little bit and while it will come off as breaking news it likely is something that several recruiting news accounts already know about but people have been told to hold off on for whatever reason.

Just a heads up for an error in the article. It should be "Villanova University."

Drive past this school all the time didn't realize until last year what a power house it is for basketball.
Monteverde may be the basketball powerhouse in the country.

Last year their graduates included Cooper Flagg and Derrick Queen, as well as Liam McNeeley. All who will be in the NBA in a few months.

You should go watch their games. They play a national schedule with teams flying on from all over the country.

...how? They have a dude or two go in the first round basically every year
Just didn't pay attention until I started seeing the name pop up more the last few years. I'm sure they have been good for awhile though.
