Thanks to their win last weekend, the Miami Hurricanes not only opened the season 1-0 but also covered the 2.5-point spread against Notre Dame. Now, heading into Week 2, the Canes are massive favorites against Bethune-Cookman. Miami opened as a 41-point favorite, with the total set at 56.

Bethune-Cookman comes in after a rough outing in Week Zero, losing 42-9 to FIU as 28.5-point underdogs. The Wildcats trailed 28-6 at halftime and gave up 456 total yards of offense.

On paper, Miami should cruise in this one. Covering 41 points is within reach, though it’s worth noting Mario Cristobal has a tendency to ease off in the fourth quarter against FCS teams. That’s shown in the numbers—Cristobal is just 3-4 against the spread in seven career games vs. FCS opponents.

You can bet on this game in Miami! Right now, RIGHT HERE.

This is not a fair game, why does BC keep doing this? It probably demoralizes their players more than anything.. There is no gain other than a financial one.

Canes in a let down spot. BC after getting blown out last week. Zero chance we cover. Canes win 45-13

Mario admittedly doesn’t like to embarrass opponents - especially schools like BCU. That being said, our decisive talent advantage even into the 2nd, 3rd strings and beyond will allow us to cruise.

Didn't watch the game but I looked at the FIU v Bethune box score and how on earth did Bethune only score 9 points but had 350 total yards, averaged 5 yards per play and only had 1 turnover lol

There's something else: It's not just that we are paying Bethune north of a million dollars to come play us. It's also that Bethune may have talent on it that Mario may spot in a game environment that he may want to come play for us that was overlooked in initial recruiting drafts over the past year or two. In a game environment one or two guys may stand out who deserve promotion to Division I and this gives Cristobal a chance not only to look at our guys and work them out, but to look at theirs and offer a transfer through the Portal.
