Miami Hurricanes offensive lineman commit Joel Ervin informed CanesInSight last week that he would shut down his recruitment. Now, he has been upgraded to a four-star prospect according to 247Sports.

"Getting the respect I deserve, AGTG," said the four-star Miami commit on Twitter.



Joel stands 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 320 pounds, playing as an offensive tackle from Fort Myers, Florida. He is currently ranked as the 528th player in the 2026 class, the 22nd offensive lineman, and the 32nd player in Florida.

He is a member of the Fort Myers offensive line. He contributed 1,759 rushing yards and 31 touchdowns over 12 games.

Joel has received 28 offers from various schools, including the Hurricanes, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Colorado, and North Carolina. He chose Miami over Florida, FSU, USC, Georgia, and others.

He told CanesInSight that he doesn't plan on taking any other visits besides Miami.

Coleman, Mallory and Bacon will all get bumped up to 4 stars as well.....Personally I think Wyman should be a 4 star but because he picked us over Georgia he is screwed.

Appears that the other recruiting sites don’t agree as his composite remains a high 3 star. Hopefully they come around..

About time, but if you have seen this kid in person, you realize he’s still underrated.
 
Rivals has him as a four star. With the On3 merge, it’ll translate to four star via On3. Think that’ll have him in the top 300 on composite.
