If you don’t think Popo is getting phone calls guaranteeing him a starting spot and a good NIL bag at other highly regarded P5 schools you are fooling yourselves. Our entire roster was being scouted throughout the championship run. Like someone said, I’m shocked we kept all of our RBs. Shocked. This is the price we pay to be famous now. Good luck to Popo. Thanks for the memories.

He had all week to work numbers without actually entering the portal
I believe the only way to know your true value (legally) is to enter the portal and see what other teams are offering..... then if a team is offering more then what you're making here, we either match it or don't.

I have no clue how all of this work, completely just assuming.

**** really wild we're going into the season with a LB room where only one guy has snaps and the rest have zero snaps

Lastly for the people that are going to spend their day trying to figure out WHY HE WOULD EVER LEAVE MIAMI

Yesterday Afternoon: Mo Toure announces he's staying at Miami to play with his son. Just Like LBJ.

Yesterday Evening: Poopoo announces he's leaving Miami.

It's obvious the staff seems them playing the same spot because they have similar skillsets and weaknesses and they don't intend to play them together. We need speed at the other LB Spot.

You can't let everyone bend you over with late entries as leverage. You have to be careful with the precedent you set. But this is exactly why the playoff window needs to change bc playoffs teams get punished, not having options this late when their guys jump in.

I wasn't expecting this with the playing time he got this season and lack of depth returning. But here we are. I hope the freshmen are ready to contribute.

Popo isn’t all that stop crying like he’s all World… i think we have young guys step up

Bonner will be interesting. Some were high on him from his NCST film. Pruitt can provide tweener help depending on the package. Not sure if Chase Smith is definitely coming back, but he had a low-key solid season. Wiley is gonna be the key and I am hoping he kills it in year 2

Also popo needs more reps if he is trying to get to the next level his senior year

Bonner had a good season as a freshman at NC State.

But yes, aside from Mo and Bonner the room is wet behind the ears

Kamal Bonner started at Nc State in 2024. He played a little this season before getting injured. Don’t sleep on him, he was brought in last spring portal to compete with Wes to start. He was always the expected replacement for Wes.

But let’s be honest, in the NIL/ Portal era you can’t name one team in the country that will go into next season with a 2 deep at any position loaded with experienced players.

I do believe this staff should work to bring PoPo back or add someone, but regardless I think Miami will be good at LB.

Yall must’ve saw more than I did but I also don’t know how to grade LB play. He was ok but nothing I saw that was special. He is a depth piece with a potential to earn more snaps due to injury or whatever.

If the staff wanted him the would pay up and keep him. No clue what the rotation looks like but it appears Toure, Smith, Wiley, Bonnor(don’t even know that is) are your 4 LB.

Maybe one of the young skids in the 2026 class but they are seem small. Still could bring in a grad transfer over the summer if needed.

Kid was solid but that’s about it. If he wants to got so a smaller school and start I can’t blame him
Yeah you obviously don’t know how to grade LB play! You should have stopped at that sentence! Miami is not asking their LBs to get a bunch of tackles. This defense is made for the safeties to make a lot of plays. It’s because we trust our great corners so much outside. We play an attacking zone blitzing scheme that allows for us to bring guys from any level. We have our DTs get upfield and it makes the two LBs have to play the B gabs and take on blockers. They are not just roaming sideline to sideline making every tackle. To get 44 tackles as the 3rd LB is pretty good in this defense.
