Can we go get a Clemson LBs LOL.
Would be ironic if they’re the ones who convinced Aguirre to enter the portal after losing Ferrelli to Ole Miss, lol

I really hope we can get this kid back in the fold. Didn’t really flash elite speed or athleticism, but was a nice, solid part of the rotation that gained valuable big-game experience during our playoff run. If we lose him , without gaining someone of equal to better ability, I would start to feel a little uneasy about our depth at LB.

Toure is the only LB with meaningful experience. I guess Bonner has some experience at NCST. Do we have anyone other than Wiley and the TF that I am missing?

I think Toure and Popo would both start. Really hope we can convince him to stay.

Popo was our 3rd backer, and was in line for an even bigger role next season on an already extremely thin LB unit. Doesn’t make sense unless this is a $ play. JMO

Was he for sure though?

I'm in agreement with you it likely could happen

But what if his ceiling was say 300 snaps again?

And what if his ceiling was a starter and 500 snaps? I mean we could play the hypothetical game all day with every player on the roster. He played the 3rd most amount of snaps for LBs this year and had the 2nd most returning entering his 4th year. We don’t really have to overthink this. It was likely his job to lose. Unless he is off to Boston College or somewhere that is going to win 7 games, he is going to have to compete for a spot anywhere worth a **** in a brand new defense under a brand new staff. Again, makes no sense leaving his situation here for that.

Anyway, good luck kid.

This one doesn’t make sense he was slotted to start unless the money was that bad for him we didn’t up him enough?

Smells like a renegotiation to me. Hopefully they can get this worked out and he returns.
