Miami Hurricanes junior linebacker Raul Aguirre Jr. has entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to On3.

Aguirre, a 6-foot-2, 233-pound linebacker from Fayetteville, Georgia, has one more year of eligibility left after this season because he’s currently a junior.

He played in all 16 games for the Hurricanes this past season, finishing with 43 tackles and one pass breakup in 2025. Across his three years at Miami, Aguirre totaled 77 career tackles, one sack and one pass defensed.

Aguirre was a 4-star recruit coming out of high school and had been part of Miami’s linebacker rotation.

We’ll see where Aguirre lands next, but this move gives him a chance to find a place where he can contribute more and show what he can do on the field.

Wow why would he leave

Probably because he's not guaranteed a starting spot. Wiley is likely breathing down his neck…And DMoney said the staff really likes Bonner. I like Popo, I think the kid can play (not saying he's a star), but especially this season, and especially against the run, he was productive when he played. But he probably can't take the chance that he will be a 200-250 snap ceiling guy again.
