kid looks compact and muscular. more like kevin williams than santana moss.

Having his "rep Miami/SoFl" influence for the next 2 years will pay huge dividends. That plus his play, we should be able to pay the kid. Just kidding. Don't nobody go making it rain for him (NCAA)

Now obviously we have to start winning consistently but I'm very excited for our future!

I wonder if all those other schools are starting to get nervous seeing top guys in south fla committing to Miami again.

There's little negative recruiting they can do against us right now. They've had free reign the last few years.

Just listened to the podcast. If you did not tell me he was 17 I would have thought he was at least 22. Very mature voice and speaking mannerisms.

Early commit: WR Sam Bruce to Miami

The Miami Hurricanes have landed another coveted St. Thomas Aquinas prospect in ESPN Jr300 receiver Sam Bruce. Continue reading for more on the news and Miami's early 2016 class progress:

The Miami Hurricanes have landed a commitment from No. 34-ranked prospect Sam Bruce.
Significance of impact: Miami is off to a great start in the 2016 class with quarterback Jack Allison (No. 27), receiver Dionte Mullins (No. 66), No. 123 Shaquille Quarterman and now Bruce (No. 34) in the ESPN Jr300. In Bruce, the Hurricanes now have one of South Florida’s most popular players regardless of class, and the type of personality that can help recruit other top prospects to Coral Gables in 2016 and beyond. Throw in the fact Bruce will play his junior and senior seasons at St. Thomas Aquinas, and this is a home run commitment for Al Golden.

What he brings: Bruce is a smaller, yet electrifying athlete who could come in and add production right away from the slot as well as in the return game. Bruce is extremely difficult for corners to mirror out of his breaks with his suddenness and premium short-area quickness. He could fill a similar role as fellow St. Thomas Aquinas alum and current Hurricane Phillip Dorsett who, when healthy, is a playmaker in the ACC.

Strength of commitment: At this point, Miami is in great shape to hold onto Bruce. He feels a family connection to Golden and the Hurricanes' staff, and is also very tight with his family -- which is a feather in the cap for the Hurricanes. With Bruce on board this early and bonding with other commitments, as well as helping recruit others to the Canes' 2016 class, Miami is in excellent position to keeping Bruce’s commitment solid.

Percent chance of the commit holding: 95 percent

Biggest threat: Florida State. The Seminoles and Ohio State lost out to the Hurricanes on July 8, but that doesn’t mean the Seminoles will quietly walk away. Should Florida State make another run at the national title and Miami struggle, the Seminoles will take another swing.

For those that fell short, who's next on their board? For Florida State, wide receivers and offensive playmakers are a plenty in the Sunshine State. While Bruce is the state's top slot receiver in this class, there are a number of big time receiver prospects on the board, including No. 6 Nate Craig, No. 25 Darnell Salomon and two May and June risers in No. 186 Freddie Swain and No. 197 Ahmmon Richards.

I hope I am wrong, but think he committed to us right now just so he does not have to worry about things for a while on the recruiting trail. He is free right now, and does not have to worry about local pressure with this commitment. I ultimately feel FSU will be final destination though in a couple of years. Again, I hope I am wrong.

If we hold on to Scarlett and he signs w us in feb, Bruce will stick. He's gonna be out recruiting for us with Scarlett. I think u are wrong.

If scarlett comes here, bruce will not leave him behind.

They said they are Brothers, not friends now.

Scarlett signs in Feb, Bruce is a 100 percent lock

Tito, Moss was Moss, still remember my man Sean McDonough calling his name on the return in the OB against the Cuse. Such a great call on CBS. Moss was... Moss, Roscoe was a kid who they grabbed late and the rest was history. Tough skinny kid who stepped up. Sill feel to this day his toughness got the better of him in 02 when he fought for yards and fumbled n Phoenix but you take it because they were so tough and bad ***. Zreo regret, I loved that kid.

Kevin Williams was, like me, not a 305 guy, he was magical. LT is LT, the rest of that crew was MIAMI but Williams was game breaking. If this kid is something like him, the renaissance is beginning.

Bruce and Scarlett are solid to the U. We would really have to **** up for them to not come here.
