Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes are in the mix for one of the top 2027 recruits in the country.
Four-star cornerback Josiah Molden is down to six schools, and Miami made the cut. The Hurricanes will battle it out with Ohio State, USC, Texas, Washington, and Oregon for his signature.
Molden’s dad, Alex Molden, has strong ties to Oregon—he played there back in the day and even got drafted. That connection could make the Ducks a serious player in this one.
Molden is the No. 20 cornerback and No. 193 player nationally in the 2027 class and the No. 1 player in the state of Oregon.
Molden hasn’t visited Miami yet, but Texas and Washington are set to host him soon. He’s a 6-foot, 175-pound corner out of West Linn, Oregon. At his junior season, he racked up 35 tackles, 12 pass breakups, and one interception. On offense, he hauled in 39 catches for 613 yards and seven touchdowns as West Linn went 11-1 and grabbed the No. 1 seed in the state playoffs.
This one could go down to the wire, but Miami making the cut is a big step in Cristobal’s plan to keep the Canes rolling with top talent.
