After being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma seven months ago, Miami Hurricanes guard Marcus Allen officially put out a statement announcing that he is cancer-free.
CANCER FREE!! Nothing but God! Thank you everyone for the prayers, love and support throughout these last couple of months. It allowed me to fight and keep going through each round of chemo. Thank you to my canes family for embracing and loving on me each day, without you guys being there for me this journey would’ve been a lot harder. To my family, you all have made sacrifices to help overcome this obstacle and I thank you with all my heart. Truly blessed to be a blessing!

Marcus was diagnosed during the 2025-26 college basketball season, playing in only eight game and averaging 5.3 points per game and 3.1 rebounds.
Allen is now fully practicing with the team for the upcoming 2026-27 season. He has already been putting in the work this offseason as the Canes Hoops Instagram page released a video of him getting back in the lab working on his jump shot.
