College basketball is sending a bill to the ACC league office after Miami’s electric Tuesday night at the Watsco Center, and it’s a $50,000 one.
The Hurricanes were fined after fans stormed the court following Miami’s 75–66 win over No. 11 North Carolina. Money well spent.
It marks the first time the University of Miami has violated the league’s policy regarding fans entering the court of play. Still, that didn’t stop the celebration. Many of the 7,355 fans in attendance rushed the floor, turning Watsco into a full-blown party scene, memorable, loud, and also costly.
Miami now has just three home games remaining this season, with No. 24 Louisville set to visit on Senior Night.
