i would enroll regardless and be like and what you gonna do to me? this is a civil case not criminal. good ******* luck treating me like property.
Been saying it. Good luck getting that indentured servitude TRO and restrictive covenant against school enrollment anywhere but Duke enforced by a court in Dade which is where Duke would need to go with their NC ruling should Mensah enroll.

Yall need to care less about media narratives. Everything we are doing is above board and legal. The people complaining are people who teams are failing at acquiring talent. The players do not care.

Say it till and blue in the face. I want Miami to do whatever the other teams who are competing are doing to win, period. They can send another tweet. How many years at this time our season would have been ended by mid October, while we try and fail to make a champs bowl with 9 wins.

When they change the rules, we adapt. That's it.

All true, especially your last line.
I hate this portal jumping of players.
I'm old school and I remember the days of our first NC team where we had tough players, some of them who were almost run out of the team because they were buried on the depth chart in previous seasons.
But this was a different era, and we have to adapt to the rules dominating this landscape whether we fans and, most importantly the coaches, like it or not.

The motion is not all that interesting to read, but it basically says the enrollment deadlines are approaching and because he can’t enroll after the deadlines the TRO is effectively a permanent injunction that would cause him irreparable harm. They are seeking a hearing today. The court so far has not scheduled one. This is being handled by local counsel in NC that is a UNC undergrad.

They should have played 3 more (pun intended) down the stretch IMO. Kid made some plays in some games for us. He was our only deep threat and was not used down the line
Other than a few downfield shots with almost no risk to pump up scores, we also just apparently took vertical routes other than digs (intermediate) out of our gameplan.

Just a solid "no thanks, we're going to play underneath everything."

I'm sure they have their reasons, but I generally despise that.

Maybe if they can be put in a link? They can also be saved as files and then click attach files->choose files.

@JD08 @No_Fly_Zone
Link is easiest. PDF isn't treated like an image and I've never attached a file here.

I also truly think having an entire team of 21-23yr olds battling 18-19yr olds plays a part

It can be a big factor.
I think of the many BYU teams that had a bunch of players on their squad who went on Mormon missions, got married and made up a sizable percentage of their roster.

Hard to argue irreparable harm when he can enroll after spring. Not sure this motion is going to work.

However, I've been convinced by all the law experts on this board. Just enroll and say **** it. Miami will pay your fines anyway.

So option 2, we should have had Mensah declare for the draft, Duke terminate, then we get him out Ward/Beck style. Wouldve been hilarious. Probably too late to do that at this point, but that would've been funny
Wouldn't it be funny to see him return to Duke and refuse to play. Sit there and have Duke pay him $4 million and he just sits the bench with a clipboard. It would suck for us but it would be funny as **** to see happen.

Hold the **** up. Did this guy just claim if Mensah is drafted, Duke could retain his NIL rights? So his NFL team and himself would just have to deal with it?

This is mental illness.
Can't fix stupid. Not even with a Duke degree on its wall...

I will say, we have been really level headed about this NC loss. I’m actually surprised. But maybe that’s also the years of mediocrity coming into play. I for one considered this a successful year after we won against A&M in the first playoff game

We just ran into the well coached, disciplined team in Indiana and we still had our chances

I hurt for my Canes after this loss, especially for the players and coaches but you're right about the level-headed reactions.
For starters, we played hard all postseason.
We barely made it into the playoffs and I kept thinking, hoping, that we show well into this tournament or we will never get the benefit of the doubt in the future.
I hoped that we played hard and competitive. Prayers answered.
In fact, very proud of this team.
Contrast this with the old days where we had to wait 4 plus weeks to play the NC game and then, if you lost, it was a big disappointment.
These postseason games were thrilling, exorcising demons (beating OS*), inabilities to win bowl games, slaying the SEC propaganda in the process.
