the logic that is being used to rank Lagway, Raiola and others above Mensah is the same logic that was used to evaluate guys Anthony RIchardson, Jamarcus Russell. Watch the **** games and use that to evaluate players! Zero chance a person that knows football can watch Leavit play this year, then watch Mensah at the close of the season and justify ranking them this way.
I mean, did you watch Jamarcus at LSU? Dude was a ****** DOG. One of the greatest arms I’ve ever seen. Just lazy af and once he got paid all that money his give-a-******* completely broke

It will be interesting to see what ramifications this has down the road, if any. Mario has been solid on talent retention, but presumably the guys we have locked down for next year could leave the same way next week and we’d also be in a difficult position to replace them.
Absolutely! Miami (and Indiana) could get totally screwed by the 5 day portal window that is open to only their players.

The portal window is a mess... if they are going to do only one transfer window, they should either move it to Spring/early summer OR move the entire season up a week and play playoff games throughout December so that the championship game can be done and then they open the portal while still allowing time for kids to transfer before the next semester starts.

Are we bad people for so enjoying the idea of Mensah and what he would mean for Canes football, while completely not caring about the impact this has on other teams and the sport as a whole? Are we the Dodgers of college football?

I mean I certainly hope we are all of what I think we may be, but should we feel bad about it even a little bit?
Star Wars Tarkin GIF

Not one bit! All that smug bull@&*# from their fans when we were down, tomahawk choppin', etc. Make that place a wasteland!

We are just playing the game, and playing it better than anyone right now, just like Alabama and LSU did from 2006-2022 or so. Before the NIL and portal, we were getting beat because we couldn't compete with the SEC schools or Ohio State for a ton of kids that were looking for $. And if we're honest, we would have lost a ton of players every year during the Shannon, Golden, Diaz, and the end of the Coker regimes if these same rules applied then. Now, things are different and we have the same or better resources, matched with a ruthless, relentless approach to building a team. We offer opportunity that most can't, which puts us in position to win most of the battles we fight by playing by the new rules. Nothing wrong with that in my opinion, but inevitably some teams are going to lose and it does suck for them.

these fools complicate their lives with all these metrics with which to evaluate talent. Just watch the **** games! Zero chance you come away with thinking any other player in the portal is better than him if you know ball
It's all a crapshoot by these evaluators. My Steelers cut Johnny Unitas because they believed he was too small and lacked the intelligence for the quarterback position. That worked out great for the Colts.

Im not gonna lie.. When I first saw I was like “oh…hmm” I was delirious because I kept thinking it was Malik Murphy (literally) until I READ his bio and stats and was still like “Dang, Murphy been nice, why all the hate” Nah, couldn’t ask for a better draw honestly.

nah, watch the **** games! how the **** is it a crapshoot rating Lagway above Mensah? its stupid

Im confused about our players portaling out. If the window is closed, how can anyone leave? (Emory?). Or if you are still playing is the window extended? That would seem to be a big disadvantage to teams in the playoffs.
