The only cool alternates were the black ones in 2017 and 2018 other than that, huge middle finger to Adidas

Say what you will...

The news of Miami moving back to Nike is absolutely dominating college sports, bringing a wave of publicity to Coral Gables that money simply cannot buy. Re-upping with Adidas would never have ignited the fanbase, the media, or the recruiting trail the way Nike has.

I think many on here are missing the forest for the trees because of an odd obsession with a uniform maker.
Nike or Adidas are the trees

The forest is that UM will earn $200 million over 10 years which helps in NIL and so many athletic issues, but also signifies to the CFB world that UM is a major player and brand. For that much money it could be Puma or KSwiss. The key is the number of $$$. The rest is just window dressing for people who claim allegiance to a company that they do not work for and probably don’t even own the stock. Full disclosure I sold my Nike stock a few years ago and do not own any Adidas stock.

Pay attention to what actually matters. As we learned in the Watergate investigation, follow the money.

It’s not impossible to be good bball school with adidas. It has great coaching and good funding that has propelled us. Shoe game is a bigger deal in BBall than sponsorships in football. So it’s harder to attract Nike athletes especially the one and done kids who just ride whoever is the baddest Nike school.

This unlocks a new door, that’s all I’m saying.
Kansas and Louisville have done well for themselves. NC State has been solid(Provided they make competent hires), UCLA made multiple Final Fours with Adidas. Michigan had a great run in Adidas, especially when they had Beilein. It’s coaching plus institutional support that wins recruits. Some kids are Nike kids only, but you also have some the opposite way. I’m willing to bet that is a wash at the end of the day.

Again, people believe correlation equals causation. Nike holds a huge part of the college market, including most of the blue bloods. When your stable is 5x the size of your closest competitor, it stands to reason that you will have a better chance of having more teams be good. That said, Adidas gave Miami the support needed for us to compete at high level in hoops, especially when L was riding high and when Coach Lucas took over.
Going through an AI search its 15 -9 both genders and 6-6 for just men. I thought it was much more in favor of Nike athletes. Fair play

You literally have no idea why stock prices go up or down. You might be one of the most business-ignorant posters I've ever seen posting on this board.

1. "because the company is losing money"

2. "isn't making as much money as they projected"

OK, what if you ACCURATELY project that sales and profits will decline due to market conditions and/or competition? You literally don't know ANYTHING about forecasts and projections in a publicly-traded company.

3. "isn't making as much money relative to their competitors"

Okay. I’d love for you to also tell me how ****** a deal this is with Nike because it is heavily up-front cash apparently lmao.

Also it interesting you currently are talking about forecasting, when you were claiming it was impossible for Miami to forecast sales and royalties revenue under a potential backend deal vs choosing upfront money instead lmao….i like how you think any of those 3 posts negate what I said though. Truly proving how stupid your arguments always are. But sure let’s use the relative to completion for Adidas in 2023 as your proof lol. I was speaking in general regardless, idgaf

We’ll have full creative control outside of a few commemorative throwbacks
Thank God, because I don't want to see some of the crap I had to suffer through during the latter Nike years. No more bra straps, clams, or power rangers BS.

Lol; no they didn’t, & I can go into great details to completely debunk this. Coach L himself said the switch would hurt recruiting. The magical Final 4 run was based upon good coaching & a team full of solid guys, but we’ve missed out on a ton of the upper echelons. ****, KU got Peterson b/c Adidas literally paid for him on KU’s behalf.

Nike runs the most elite AAU circuit. I’ve been there homie; imma be there again next yr. The most elite kids r going to Nike schools b/c Nike dominates basketball & it’s not close. There’s a reason Adidas is putting all they have into Ant Edwards b/c he’s the coolest athlete they have & maybe if he could stop being so immature, he can finally be “the one” for Adidas to boost their perception.

I just hope it's as good as the Dylan Mulvaney deal.

I would like to see a reiteration of the smoke unis Nike did back in the day.

Someone is going to make some money writing a book or producing a 30/30 about how we went from riches to rags and back to riches, penthouse to poverty and back to the penthouse over a nearly three-decade frame of time.

*****' magical, gentlemen.

It's Nike. That is exactly what they will do. I hated being their guinea pig.
Like Richt I'm hopeful Mario will not let them ***** it up. We have some old UM traditionalists calling the shots so holding out hope.
