Boca Raton (FL.) defensive lineman Jamar Thompson, a 6-foot-3, 305-pound, playing his ball at West Boca Raton High School, narrowed his list on Thursday afternoon to just four schools.

The Miami Hurricanes and Mario Cristobal's squad made the cut for the defensive lineman, alongside Auburn, Michigan, and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Jamar is considered a four-star talent by all four major recruiting sites. He's a top 20 player at his position and the No. 177 overall prospect in the 2027 class, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

According to the On3's Recruiting Predicting Machine, he is leaning towards Miami with a 52.9% chance to land the defensive lineman. The Hurricanes are considered the favorite.

Jamar is being recruited by head coach Mario Cristobal and Miami's defensive line coach, Damione Lewis, the Hurricanes appear to have done an excellent job of laying the framework to potentially land the four-star talent.

He would be a great addition depth piece to add in the defensive lineman room for the Hurricanes. He would be a long term addition if the Hurricanes can secure his commitment.

Thought I’d read somewhere (maybe here) his HS coach is an OSU guy and pushing there? Hopefully the kid wants to stay close to home.

Close their pipeline to FL, TX and GA and those Buckeye leeches fall somewhere between Michigan State and Minnesota

To be fair, there's actually a lot of talent in their own backyard. Maybe not quite at FL/TX/GA levels, but plenty nonetheless.
