Why ya'll think you have to be 250 to play LB. You just have to be a stud! Tevin Smith of FSU is only 218 and he's a SR. If you can take people on, fly to the ball and tackle then then you'll be ok. I'm not saying you can play a bunch of light weights, but grade guys on play not weight. I'll take speed over weight any day. In our hey day we were light but had outstanding speed

Ok, so now McCray is the kind of stud that can play LB at 195 as a Frosh? I mean ok, once in a while you get a kid like Sean Spence, but this kid isnt Sean Spence.

kid isnt blazing fast already but does hit like a ton of bricks i dont want to see him at 240 everybody cant play at that weight

kid isnt 195 ...he was 205 in the spring before his jr year. so the point is null and void....Kid is closer to 220 than 195...Pete may just posted an old weight

I've seen him play 3 times and getting to the QB by any means necessary is his strength!

I do think he will redshirt but he is a player. Not a great athlete but a **** good football player.

And don't tell me about size when the 2014 national champions had two LBers in there starting lineup who weighed under 220. ( Terrence brooks and Terrence smith)

FSU runs a 4-2-5 (brooks is a safety not a LB) which needs different things than a 3-4 defense. OLB gotta be able to set the edge against TE and OT in the run game

“Kind of a relief because he’s a good coach and the scheme he’s got going on,"

Not sure what to make of this statement, but I'm happy to hear the kids confidence is sky high. I hope he proves the naysayers wrong. Lord knows our front 7 needs all the help they can get. This class will deliver.

Easy to know what to make of this.

The recruits and players know a lot more about our coaching staff and their plans than anybody who ever posts on this or any site.
Any of us ever had a conversation with Golden?
Most of these morons posting castigate and criticize and know nothing about anything.

Seems like the players, recruits, former players and former coaches like Howard and Jimmy swear by Golden, and say he's the real deal.

Yet 100 morons demanding change and wishing our coach the worst are the ones who really know the truth?

Only in your internet fantasies.

Show me results that back up your process, and I'll believe in your process. Show me dog****, and I'll think your process is dog****.

Hopefully he's telling the kids that there are some changes coming, or maybe he's convincing them that it's the personnel, and these kids can make the plays.

6-6, 7-5, 9-4.

Any other results needed, or will you just ignore them as well?

Not getting into this because it's off topic and has been discussed ad nauseam, so this is the only thing I'll say. We played two top teams last year out of conference in Kansas State and Notre Dame. This year we didn't even play a bowl team out of conference. Those two losses last year were replaced with two easy wins. There's the change in record right there.

Using records as indicators is flawed because not all 9-4's, 7-5's, and 6-6's are equal. And under your narrow definition of results, we better win ten games next season, or we will have stagnated or regressed.

What people dont understand is Golden is a fair coach, it can hurt him and help him at the same time. He allowed Shannon kids to play because he felt like they deserved it after what happen. he really feels like everything is off his shoulders now and is ready to unload now that subpar talent is gone

Edit: “Kind of a relief because he’s a good coach and the scheme he’s got going on, he’s really starting to make all the south Florida players come to Miami. That’s the reason Miami isn’t what they used to be because all the out of state schools were coming in and taking all the kids."

Hope he sticks to his own words.

He's a kid. Don't hold your breath.

This is always an interesting time of year.

Shame on whoever was saying this kid was JAG. Smh. Now LSU and BAMA are coming on strong for him. It'd be a great pull if we can hold on to this kid from Ely.

From the Sun Sentinel's Ryan Clark:

@ryan_s_clark: #LSU is making a late push for #Miami commit LB Terry McCray, per Ely's recruiting coordinator.
