That’s not possible. Any grad transfer needed to be in already to play this year. They can transfer anytime, they have to be in the portal by the deadline to play in the next season.

As far as I understand, a GT can just show up on campus for summer term and never have to use the portal. It’s also debatable if an undergrad can or can’t do the same thing. Grant of rights within NIL contracts may limit these moves but I don’t see the NCAA stopping them especially GTs.

I am still hoping for a TE and maybe a LT come June.

Incorrect now - the 2026 rules tightened this. You must have been in the portal by Jan 16, 2026 to play the next season at a new team.

There is no exception for graduate transfers now, so the team is the team. Sorry to bring the bad news.

Who are you trying to convince? I don't believe Mario would leave but you're crazy if you don't think Texas would make a run at him. Same with Bama.
