I have no clue what happened with Lowe. He must have not been a culture fit or he’s still be here. He was a major talent and recruit but we won’t tolerate BS in this program and that’s why the kids are winning games. Sometimes kids don’t mature. I’m curious how Newton is developing. Davis and Blount are large lineman that can play inside and outside but Newtons 265 pound presence seems like could add something. Looks like Pickett Scroggins Blount, wilson and some others will get a shot here. Wonder if Wiley at 6-4 235-240 gets a shot or if they move Cole Mc back to edge.
maybe it was flagged and mario took a chance on him because of the talent, hoping i suppose that the program and structure would keep in place. seems it did for a year. sometimes that happens, kids get straightened out. other times it just doesn't work like here.

No it’s not lol. Name me in 4 plus years how many problem players Mario had brought in? Sometimes 19 year olds that are far from home make mistakes. Mario doesn’t bring in kids who are clowns.
Thank you for the insight here - I think this will hopefully help a lot of people who were on the "we must keep him at any cost" train. The cost of keeping someone like this is the deterioration of everything Mario has built. No one person is bigger than the program, no matter how talented.

With Lowe gone who is gonna benefit most? Eill Charles get some time? Is someone like Nagle who looks like an interior kid gonna compete as that other big end? Newton? Kids 265. Thought he was a future DT but could he factor. Am I missing names ? Just curious

Do we know what the terms of his NIL were? There very well could have been a snaps/playing time/early termination provisions that would provide downside protection if we were aware of his issues coming in. All that to say, I don't think we can say poor diligence when we don't know all the facts.

What really sucks about the Gilbert situation is his injury didn’t even happen on the field. Not sure what happened, but supposedly he got injured in the off-season while visiting home?
