University of Miami sophomore wide receiver Malachi Toney has been named the Paul Hornung Award National Player of the Week following his performance in the Hurricanes' 43-35 double-overtime victory over Florida State.

Toney totaled 191 all-purpose yards on 15 touches, contributing as a receiver, rusher, passer and punt returner in Miami's home victory over the Seminoles.

The sophomore hauled in 11 receptions for 152 yards and two touchdowns, including a 3-yard touchdown catch in the second overtime that proved to be the game-winner. Toney followed the score by completing a pass for a successful two-point conversion.

Toney also added 31 rushing yards on two carries and returned a punt eight yards. He accounted for eight first downs from scrimmage as the Hurricanes secured the victory over Florida State
