Live Thread Updates: The Opening Finals 2019 - Day 1

Action is about to get underway here in Frisco, Texas. Today's schedule includes combine testing, individual drills and 1-on-1's, and finishes off with the Showcase (Long Toss, Tug-of-War, the Cat and Mouse Drill, and the Fastest Man). 7-on-7 team play will begin tomorrow. Let's get it.

I figured if stubbs had that kind of production himself at Purdue then he really was a technician.

4-star TE Theo Johnson says he is still planning an official visit to Miami in the fall. Tried to make it for Paradise but had a conflicting school event. Iowa, Penn State, Michigan, Georgia also heavily involved here

Not great, really slow start like I said but he was able to win a few reps towards the end of the day to salvage it a bit. Redding and Chaney were really impressive though.

 

Stefan, how did Walker do in drills ?

I liked what I saw from Walker. Really starting to put on some good weight to his frame too, he is already one of the quicker/more athletic tackles here

I’m here to eat crow about Stroud. Was very down on him but he proved me wrong big time.

 

Just talked with Chantz Williams, and of course, the Miami hype from yesterday is real. Said Miami never gave up on him when he eliminated them, said coach Stroud just recruited him even harder. Publicly, he'll be choosing from a group of UGA, LSU, Florida, Miami, Texas A&M. Privately, he has two in mind that he can see himself at and says deep down he knows where he needs to be.
